Overview
The Mago App is a cloud-connected application designed to integrate the company’s eComposters with a user-friendly dashboard, providing real-time monitoring of both, the process and the device. By delivering valuable insights, it enhances waste management efficiency and supports better decision-making.
Given the limited timeframe, we prioritized key features using a MoSCoW diagram to streamline development without compromising quality. The main challenges included:
Rapid UI Testing: The limited time required us to conduct user test that maximized insights and validation by using Maze.co.
Software Testing Constraints: The final prototype had minimal testing before development, making close collaboration with the back-end team essential.
Despite the time constraints, the project delivered an intuitive, scalable, and accessible solution, empowering businesses to optimize waste management effectively.

Development
Through client interviews, iterative feedback and the MoSCoW framework, we mapped out the user journey. After developing the high-fidelity prototypes, we conducted user tests, refining the design based on the feedback before final client approval. Our key findings being:
93% correctly identified the status of the eComposters
71% easily navigated between different eComposters
Testers effectively responded to the colour-coded status tiles (Stable, Warning, Error)
The client requested a clearer separation between 'Metrics' and 'Device Settings'.
The design we built, focuses on usability and accessibility, it empowers users to manage waste effectively to make informed decisions based on their needs.
